Notes and Discussion
This thread over at BrewerFan.net was pointed out to me. I haven’t had time to read the whole thing, but I hope to get through it later today. Go read it and you’ll have a little background for when I have a few thoughts and share some information that should add something information to the discussion over there.
Congratulations to Martin Maldonado. He was a Timber Rattlers catcher for a time in 2009. He was added to the 40-man roster in the host of roster moves made by the Milwaukee Brewers yesterday.
A couple of other items in that last link.
Jeremy Jeffress (’10) has been selected to play in the Arizona Fall League Rising Stars Game.
Ed Sedar has left the Brewers organization take a job with the Houston Astros. Sedar started his professional career as a member of the Chicago White Sox organization. He played as an outfielder for the Appleton Foxes in 1982 and 1983. Sedar made a transition to the mound and pitched for the Foxes in 1985.
New Brewers manager Ron Roenicke has some Midwest League roots. He started his career with Clinton in 1977. That team was known as the Clinton Dodgers and look at the roster for a teammate of Roenicke by the name of Mike Scioscia.
Let’s Go Rattlers had named their Biggest Surprise of the 2010 Timber Rattlers season. I have no argument with this one. Click over for the winner.
