JJ Putz tosses a no-hitter at Fox Cities Stadium. The first in Timber Rattlers history.
The Timber Rattlers hosted the Kane County Cougars in…this may come as a shock to you…a doubleheader.
JJ Putz got the start in game one and he walked the leadoff batter. Then, he got a 6-4-3 double play. Then, Putz went on to set down the next 16 batters in a row.
Wisconsin was comfortably up by a score of 6-0 heading into the final inning. Putz walked four in the seventh. The final one forced in a run. But, he got a pop up to short to end the game and give Appleton Professional baseball its first no-hitter since June 28, 1994.
Happy Anniversary, JJ Putz! Celebrate by picking up a save against the Cubs tonight!
