Congratulations to Nathan Adcock (’08). First MLB win yesterday!
It was Adcock’s first career victory and marked the first time in his five big-league appearances that he pitched when the Royals weren’t behind.
“It’s a good feeling,” he said, “but I didn’t try to change anything. I just wanted to get outs. Just attack and attack and pound the strike zone.”
Adcock pitched around Jason Kubel’s two-out double before Aaron Crow, still another rookie, protected the one-run lead with a three-up, three-down eighth. Crow has yet to allow a run in 13 2/3 innings over 11 outings.
