Postgame Thoughts (August 2, 2011)
Wisconsin 2, Clinton 1
Boxscore | Game story
- Jimmy Nelson was efficient tonight. Unofficially 86 pitches (50 strikes). 15 of those pitches were counted up in his 7th and final inning.
- Also, 8 strikeouts. Third time this season he’s had 8Ks. Others were 6/12 v. FW & 7/5 @BEL
- After an admittedly rough first half, here are Nelson’s numbers in eight second half starts: 51-1/3 IP, 41H, 16R, 16ER, 20BB, 51K.
- And in the old-fashioned stats: 4-1 with a 2.81ERA
- Jason Rogers picked a great time to hit his first home run at Time Warner Cable Field this season.
- He’s hit a few hard to left this season, but they have hit high off the 16′ high wall. Not tonight!
- He’s a note for you. Rattlers hitters only struck out one time tonight.
- Alan Williams looked good tonight. No walks and two strikeouts in two scoreless innings for the save, his first with the Rattlers.
- All in all a nice clean win for a modest two game winning streak.
- It’s Brooks Hall’s turn on Wednesday.
Highlights should be available around 11:30pm…ish.
