Fifty years ago, Appleton Professional Baseball joined the Midwest League. The Timber Rattlers Ron Garth was the starting third baseman for the West. Other Rattlers on the team included outfielder Casey Craig, pitcher Edgar Guaramato, and pitcher Harold Williams.
