I’m feeling bad for our catchers. They get dogged out for their hitting but don’t receive the same opportunities to work out of their slumps as guys like Rivera, Mcmahan and Walla. I mean no disrespect to them but come on give our catchers a break. It’s got to be tough hitting 90 plus with sporadic attempts. I know they need breaks so lets give em some DH time. Just saying….

There are two active catchers on the roster. You can’t have one catch and one DH because of the possibility of injury. Also, the catcher who is not in the lineup has to catch down in the bullpen to warm pitchers up to come into the game. In the game last week at home, Tyler Roberts had to come out of the bullpen in right-center after Rafael Neda was lifted for a pinch-hitter.

That is why one of the two active catchers cannot be a DH during the game.

Rivera has had three days off this season and has not DH-ed once. Walla did not DH until last Friday in Clinton and that was the first day he did not play in the field since last week. McMahan has been the DH three times and I think two of those times were after he came back from the DL.

I understand where you are coming from, but people who know are not dogging on the catchers.

Point well taken… Just feeling for our guys a little with the low at bats they receive and some of the criticism. Also, I was including Berberet in the group. However, I guess he is hurt. Not sure

Berberet has been on the DL for two weeks.
