If you will allow me to channel my inner Bugs Bunny for a moment:

Nick Ramirez WHAM!! Another homer!!

Rattlers v. Clinton in the Western Division Finals.

The schedule:
Saturday, 9/8 @ Clinton @ 6:30pm
Sunday, 9/9 @ Wisconsin @ 7:05pm
Monday, 9/10 @ Wisconsin @ 6:35pm – if necessary

The pitching matchups:
SAT: RHP Chad Thompson v. LHP Rusty Shellhorn
SUN: RHP Mark Williams v. RHP Seon Gi Kim
MON: TBA v. RHP Bobby Shore

When Clinton was at Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium in the second half, hitting coach Tommy Cruz saw me on the concourse and said, “We want you guys in the playoffs.”

Well, they got the Rattlers.

The Rattlers won the season series with LumberKings.  In 15 meetings during the 2012 season, the Rattlers were 12-3, including 8-1 at Clinton.

But, this is a LumberKings team that had an unbelievable second half.  Clinton in the first half: 23-45.  Clinton in the second half: 48-22.  They finished the regular season with a ten game winning streak.  They won 17 of their last 18 games.

Plus, they won a pair of extra inning games in Beloit to bounce back after they lost game one of the first round series at home to advance to the Western Division Finals.

This is going to be a fun series.  Tickets for Game Two of the Western Division Finals go on sale Saturday at 10:00am at the Timber Rattlers Box Office.

I’ll have more in the morning.  Right now, sleep calls because there is a 9:30 bus to Clinton.

Enjoy the highlights:
