Walkoff Wednesday (1998 Season)

It’s Walkoff Wednesday on Rattler Radio.

We continue our timeskip out of order this week with a look at the 1998 season.

The Timber Rattlers of 1998 had an incredible starting rotation (Ryan Anderson, Gil Meche, and Joel Pineiro were 3/5 of it for most of the season). There were a lot of close games that went down to the wire and there were a total of SIXTEEN walkoffs that year.

Watch for the name Mike Marchiano to appear…a lot. I mean… A LOT!

Also, one of the most dominant Timber Rattlers pitching performances ever ended in an opponent walkoff victory during the 1998 playoffs.

Keep in mind that this may not be a complete list. The person (Ed.: AHEM) who went through the microfilm of The Post-Crescent boxscores at Appleton Public Library forgot to get ALL of the details.

If need be, I’ll go back and get these at some point. If you were at these games – or happen to be former Rattlers radio announcer Tim McCord, drop a line in the comments to help. HEEELLLLPPPPP!!!
