Walkoff Wednesday (2011 season)

It’s Walkoff Wednesday on Rattler Radio.

This week is the 2011 season.  The Rattlers were doubled up on walkoffs by their opponents.  But, that’s okay.  Two of the finest bat flips in Timber Rattlers history occur on their two walkoff homers of 2011.  Click the links for the video and audio highlights.

TIMBER RATTLERS WALKOFFS (4):

DATE: April 17 (Game 2 of doubleheader)
OPPONENT: Peoria Chiefs
BATTER: Mike Walker
PITCHER: Eduardo Figueroa
SCORE BEFORE WALKOFF: Peoria 1, Timber Rattlers 0 in the bottom of the 7th
GAME WINNING PLAY: Two-run home run by Walker!
SCORE AFTER WALKOFF: Timber Rattlers 2, Peoria 1
NOTE: The Rattlers were winning game one of the doubleheader 6-2, but the Chiefs scored one in the sixth and four in the seventh to take the lead.  Walker’s homer came with one out and pinch-runner Robbie Garvey scored ahead of Walker.  The bat flip is my favorite part!

Mike Walker emphatically jumps on home plate!

That homer was the second - and last - homer Brownstein hit in the minor leagues.
