Boxscore | Game Story

Everything clicked on the final home game of the homestand.

Pitching:
Quality Start by Tyler Wagner with six solid innings. He has six quality starts out of ten starts this season.

Martin Viramontes with two scoreless innings and three more strikeouts

Hitting:
Tyrone Taylor stays red hot! He was on base four times on two singles and two hit batsmen. He scored two runs, and drove in three. He’s on a nine-game hitting streak and is 17-for-32.

Mike Garza with a key two-out hit in the fourth to tie the game 2-2. He also drove in three runs in the game.

Mike Reed went 2-for-4 with a walk and three runs scored. Reed is on a THIRTY game on-base streak. He’s at a .377 OBP during this streak.

Defense:
The leaping grab by Alfredo Rodriguez at shortstop made the highlights. He also turned a nice double play in the sixth inning.

Taylor also made a nice running catch for the last out of the game.

Base Running:
Everyone who had a chance to take the extra base took it.

All in all, a pretty darn good game for the Timber Rattlers.

Apologies for the brevity AND lateness of the post. I had to clean out the radio booth before the WIAA tournament starts in the morning. Also, there’s some packing that needs to be done before the bus leaves in the morning.

Garza & Giacalone with hang time.
