Tater Tuesday – Mike Wilson (2005)

Welcome to Tater Tuesday on the blog. Each week I’ll take a look at home runs or – as the Great George Scott called them – taters. Usually, this will be home runs by a Timber Rattlers player.

Mike Wilson was entering his fourth season of professional baseball in 2005.  Wilson, a big-time linebacker recruit for the University of Oklahoma, was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 2nd round of the 2001 draft.  He was still finding his way at the game of baseball.  But, when he figured it out, Wilson had one of the best power hitting seasons – and postseasons in Timber Rattlers season.

Mike Wilson hit 19 taters in the regular season and three in the postseason during 2005.
