Jerseys of the Rattlers – 2010 & 2011 Star Wars

The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers have worn many jerseys since 1995. There have been throwbacks, pinks, camouflage, batting practice, sleeveless, the regular ones that were worn for most games, and a few that you may have forgotten. This feature is to take a look at those jerseys.

Wisconsin hosted their third and fourth Star Wars Nights during the 2010 & 2011 seasons.  These Star Wars Nights were different from the others due to a simple fact.  The team wore the same jersey design both years.

The 2010 Star Wars Night was held on June 12:

The design was based on the armor worn by the Imperial Stormtroopers.

It looks a lot less threatening on a mascot.

Here’s a closeup on the logo.  Yes, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Wisconsin was the sponsor for these.

The snake in the logo even got into the act.

Here’s the actual armor.  It’s a lot more intimidating when they aren’t doing the YMCA!

But, you get the general idea.

Rattlers manager Jeff Isom did not feel like Force Choking someone that day.

Thumbs up indeed!

Jake Odorizzi was the starter on that day for the Timber Rattlers.  He allowed four runs on four hits and four walks with no strikeouts over four innings.  The Force was not with him on this day.

Scooter Gennett was the second baseman for the Rattlers.  He went 1-for-5 with a run scored.

Cutter Dykstra was at third base in this 2010 game.  He also went 1-for-5, but he hit a two-run home run.

The 2011 Star Wars Night was held on June 11 and manager Matt Erickson got into the “Pose with Vader” tradition.

They trusted Matt with a blaster.

The 2011 Timber Rattlers who would participate in the All-Star Game at Quad Cities were introduced to the fans before the game.  From left to right that should be: Mike Walker, Austin Ross, Tyler Thornburg, and Chris Dennis.

Robbie Garvey was on First Pitch duties that day.

And that's what the #2 looks like in the Star Wars universe.
