Jerseys of the Rattlers – 2013 Brewers Sunday
The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers have worn many jerseys since 1995. There have been throwbacks, pinks, camouflage, batting practice, sleeveless, the regular ones that were worn for most games, and a few that you may have forgotten. This feature is to take a look at those jerseys.
This week, the Brewers Sunday jerseys of 2013.
Those jerseys were based on the batting practice tops of the Brewers from the early 90’s. They are best remembered in photos featuring Robin Yount, Paul Molitor, and Jim Gantner…like this one:
Pretty darn close if you ask me:
The blue pinstriped pants make the outfit, too.
Another key part is the patch on the left sleeve.
The snake head logo on the hat isn’t exactly like the “Ball & Glove” logo on the Brewers hats of that era. However, the shade of blue for the hat and the shade of yellow for the logo are perfect matches. That makes the hat work.
Marco Estrada is the only player from 2013 to wear his pant legs up to show off the blue sanitary socks. The pinstripe pants allowed everyone else to wear the pant legs in the style of the day.
Fang wearing the #1 jersey, but the rest of the jersey is off how?
Here’s a closer look at the numbers on the back of the jerseys.
Here are a few photos from the walk-off win over Burlington on July 28.
Garrett Cooper is about to be mobbed.
A few more photos to highlight the jerseys.
The return of the shot of a batter at the plate with the rest of the teammates hanging on the rail.
These Brewers Sunday jerseys were auctioned off on the club level after a game against Kane County on August 25, 2013. Here are some of the winners, with an example of the Timber Rattlers t-shirt based on these jerseys, and a few winners of the 2012 Brewers Sunday jersey auction:
