Tommy Toledo profile on the Post-Crescent Website. Well worth the click plus…The Tebow question:

Q: You were at Florida the same time as Tim Tebow. Was there such a thing as Tebow mania in Gainesville?

A: “Everybody was a Tebow fan. I’m a diehard Tebow fan. I was there watching the Gators and he was just awesome to follow. He was an unbelievable player to watch and we definitely looked up to him, too.”

Q: Did you ever meet him?

A: “Yeah, I met him a couple of times. He actually came to the baseball field a few times because his roommate, Riley Cooper, was on the baseball team. So we actually got to hang out with him and meet him a few times.”

Profiling Austin Ross

The Post Crescent continues their series of Timber Rattlers profiles.  This week it is pitcher Austin Ross.

Q: What is your most prized sports possession?

A: “Right now, I’d have to definitely say my national championship ring. That’s as good as it gets in college baseball. We played our last game and won it.”

Q: What is the best advice you received?

A: “Someone told me one time: ‘Don’t believe what anybody says that’s too good or too bad. Just stay even-keeled and do your job.’ “

Also, click through to find out why he has the middle name North. No, it’s not because of that long-forgotten Bruce Willis movie, a suprsingly bad movie for having Frodo, George Costanza, Elaine Benes in the cast and Meathead as the director.
