Big News. This is Big News in our corner of the sky.

The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers will need to renovate their trophy case inside Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium. Minor League Baseball announced the Midwest League affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers as winners of the National Larry MacPhail Award, which symbolizes the top promotional effort in Minor League Baseball.

“The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers do an exceptional job of not only promoting their club in the community, but also of trying to tie in an element that benefits its residents in their ballpark promotions, as well,” Pat O’Conner, President of Minor League Baseball, said in a release earlier today. “The Timber Rattlers have programs and promotions in place for fans of all ages, including several geared towards improving behavior and lifestyle of area youths.”

“Wisconsin’s use of various social media to promote themselves, especially through their mobile web site that allows fans to interact during games, as well as throughout the off-season, merits their selection as the winner of the 2012 Larry MacPhail Award,” said O’Conner.

The award has been given annually since 1966.

Renovation Update (Video & Photos)

Ever wanted to see me standing on a pile of rubble? That is how Renovation Update opens Episode Five:

Photos of stuff for next week’s episode:

A little something for now

It’s been busy since returning home from Fort Wayne on Monday evening.  I’ll have a bit more on everything next week or throughout the offseason.

For now, here is the video of the final three outs from Game Four with my audio track.  Plus, a bit of the celebration and the trophy presentation.  For the record, I am positive that I said Jose Valentin and didn’t just leave it as The Fort Wayne Manager*

*I am pretty positive…In the words of Frank the Tank after the debate with James Carville, “What happened? I blacked out.”

Musical Interlude

I’m going to need awhile…So, Take Five everyone.

The internet on the bus did not cooperate to allow me to work on an ‘Nine After 9′ last night.  This morning, projects intrude.

Speaking of projects, the production crew put together a first half highlight video to celebrate the first half division championship.  Enjoy.

Calmest one handed grab of a one hop foul ball ever….EVER!

A few minutes with Groundskeeper Eddie

Timber Rattlers groundskeeper Eddie Warczak found a few moments to sit down for this interview.

I am shocked that he let those chairs at home plate.

Learn the secret of patterns.
