It’s a beautiful day for baseball! The Rattlers host the Burlington Bees today at 12:05pm.

GAME NOTES:
SUNDAY AT THE PARK: The Burlington Bees defeated the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 7–4. The Rattlers rallied from a 4–1 deficit to score three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game. The Bees broke the tie with three runs in the top of the eighth.

EARLY POWER: Burlington leadoff hitter Jahmai Jones hit a home run on the third pitch of the game. It was the fourth time an opposing batter has hit a leadoff homer in the first inning of a game this season. Luis Silverio of Kane County hit one at Neuroscience Group Field on June 10. Luis Barrera of Beloit (5/25) and Rayder Ascanio (5/27) of Clinton hit leadoff homers in the bottom of the first inning.

DOWN EARLY: The Bees have scored in the first inning of all three games of this series. They Bees, who have won eight straight games against the Timber Rattlers this season, have first in eight of the twelve meetings between the teams this season.

IT GOES TO ELEVEN: Joantgel Segovia moved his hitting streak to eleven games with a RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning. He is 14-for-42 (.333) during the streak. Segovia now owns the longest hitting streak by a Timber Rattler this season.

BACK TO EVEN: Wisconsin trailed 4–1 after the Bees scored a run in the top of the seventh inning. Wisconsin rallied to tie the game with three runs in the bottom of the seventh. Segovia drove in the first run with a single. Weston Wilson knocked in the second runs with a double. Carlos Belonis scored the tying run on a wild pitch. Wilson was at third with one out, but the Rattlers could not get him home to take the lead. The Bees would score three runs in the top of the eighth to go ahead to stay.

DAY OF BELONIS: Belonis went 3-for-5 with a double, a stolen base, and two runs scored. Belonis is on a six-game hitting streak (9-for-24, .375) for the Rattlers.

RUN WILD: The Timber Rattlers were 4-for-4 in stolen bases yesterday.

LONG GONE: Burlington hit three solo homers off the Rattlers on Sunday. Wisconsin pitchers have allowed 83 homers this season. The Bees have hit 47 homers in 2017 and nine of those homers have been hit against Wisconsin.

2017 SERIES TRACKER:
Wisconsin is 7–14 with six splits in 27 series this season. They are 2–9–3 in home series and 5–5–3 in road series.

TRANSACTIONS: Pitcher Braden Webb has been placed on the Wisconsin disabled list retroactive to July 6. Pitcher Cameron Roegner has been activated from the Wisconsin disabled list.

BURLINGTON IN 2017: The Bees are 39–48 this season, including 21–24 on the road. They missed the playoffs in the first half. Burlington is 8–10 to start the second half of the season.

2017 SEASON SERIES: The Rattlers are 2–10 against the Bees this season. Wisconsin is 1–5 at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium and 1–5 at Community Field.

BURLINGTON PROSPECTING: MLB Pipeline places two current Bees on their Top 30 list of prospects in the Angels organization. Outfielder Jamai Jones is the #1 prospect on the list. Pitchers Joe Gatto (#24) and Jose Suarez (#27) are also on the list.

BURLINGTON STARTING PITCHER: Erik Manoah was acquired by the Angels in a trade with the New York Mets in 2016. He spent most of last season with Brooklyn in the New York-Penn League and was 5–5 with a 5.37ERA over 13 games — twelve starts. Manoah also made one start for the Bees last season and was 0–1. He was originally selected by the Mets in the 13th round of the 2014 draft out of South Dade High School in Homestead, Florida. In his start prior to this afternoon, Manoah allowed one run on two hits with two walks and six strikeouts over five innings for a no decision at Clinton on July 5. Manoah has made two appearances — one start — against the Timber Rattlers this season. He has allowed three runs — two earned — on six hits with four walks and eleven strikeouts over 8–2/3 innings against Wisconsin this season. Manoah, who was a Midwest League All-Star this season, does not have a decision against the Rattlers.
