Put up a Parking Lot — October 2, 2014
Last night’s NL Wild Card Game was not nearly as exciting as the AL Wild Card Game.
The two AL Division series get started tonight. I wanted to take a look at how the individual starting pitchers did in the Midwest League. But, Max Scherzer, Jason Vargas, and Jered Weaver all skipped the MWL.
That leaves former Timber Rattlers Chris Tillman (’07) to get the start against the Detroit Tigers tonight.
Tillman was 1–4 with a 3.55ERA in eight starts for the Rattlers in 2007. He basically had three decent starts with Wisconsin before he was promoted to the California League in late May.
FUN FACT: Tillman’s one win in the Midwest League came on April 23 against the West Michigan Whitecaps, the MWL affiliate of the Detroit Tigers.
